Unseasonable Excitedness Disorder
A childhood memory from the Allegheny woods leads to a botanical correction. The “leeks” we dug each spring were actually ramps. Meanwhile at Sans Souci, the first warm days of March pulled us back into the fields, clearing ground, planting potatoes, and starting the season.
Freeze, Thaw, Repeat
It’s late February and we are expecting another 10” of snow tomorrow evening. We spent the day prepping for and planting seeds for spring.
Small Steps, Big Questions
Permaculture teaches patience. It’s about building something that works because it belongs — not because it was forced. So we’ll keep planting, experimenting, and learning. Whether or not a microgrant helps push us forward, Sans Souci is already growing in the ways that matter most.
